tRUMP & RFK Jr cripple health care for 9/11 responders

MSNBC reports:

“The Trump administration recently fired the head of the World Trade Center Health Program, and dismissed two-thirds of the entire staff at the program’s parent agency, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The dismissals leave in doubt the future of the initiative that administers health care support for those who developed 9/11-related cancers, respiratory ailments and other medical issues.

First responders and investigators continue to die because of their exposure to the toxic air and materials of the 9/11 sites.
Under the direction of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dr. John Howard, administrator of the WTC Health Program, was let go. So too were more than 800 doctors, epidemiologists and staffers throughout NIOSH whom the WTC team relies on to research, identify and address the myriad health issues related to the rescue, recovery and evidence collection efforts at the toxic 9/11 sites.

When law enforcement and rescue workers develop cancers that may stem from those efforts, the WTC unit must first certify that the illness is 9/11-related before those patients can start to receive care under the program.

While the 86 members of the WTC unit appear to remain employed, their essential support network at NIOSH is mostly gone, and officials and advocates assert these cuts will cripple the program.”

My Commentary:
Once again Robert Kennedy, Jr demonstrates why he is unqualified to hold this position.

While tRUMP plows forward with his narcissistic plan to honor himself with a military parade in Washington, DC at the expense of millions of dollars or tax payer’s money and while he attempts to pass huge tax cuts to billionaires, they selfless first responders on that horrible day (funded by tRUMP’s Saudi friends) have their health care funding slashed.

This is unconscionable!

Clearly Americans are fine with this. They voted for Trump knowing he was making cuts and that Kennedy was going to health.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman It's not really all that clear. while the majority of Americans voted for the Orange One, the majority was 52.2%. 48.8% did not vote for him or agree with his policies.

Now that he's prez the only way to get him out (barring a violent act - which I do not advocate) is an impeachment. And the numbers for that are not here at present.

The last approval rating I've seen is that 43% approve of his performance.

Please don't lump us all together.

@Pretzel I actually agree with you completely.. However, stereotyping has been alive and well inside America for a very long time.. Ask your black, brown and asian friends..Now its being applied to you all. He IS your President. This IS your government. 😷

@whowasthatmaskedman oh I get it and am guilty of it. And generalizations are actually a good thing in surviving the world around us. Don't touch what looks like fire and don't try to breathe underwater.

And you are correct. My government and my prez.

I forgot who said it but there is a saying. "In a democracy the people generally get the kind of government they deserve"

@Pretzel Thank you for getting it. I know there are literally millions of nation loving Americans out there completely appalled at what is happening to your country right now. (And some who have been for many years). What is new to all Americans is that because of trump the other 8 billion people who Americans didnt have to think about much are lining up looking at you just the way you look at "others" and thinking that maybe enough is enough..😷
