Can you be diagnosed by a doctor that you had an actual stroke

Without any tests?

Someone I know told me he had a stroke and told the doctor his symptoms and the doctor confirmed he’d had a stroke but did not have any tests ordered. I said I’m pretty sure you’d need to have some kind of test for this to be confirmed and he said no just the doctor could tell without sending him for tests.

I feel like hes lying and looking for attention

The doctor could send him for an MRI to see if there are signs in the brain of a previous stroke.

The doctor may not want to waste medical resources sending him for an MRI but they should to make sure the symptoms he has been having are from a stroke.

@iamonfire696 from what my neurologist told me, the ct is the cheapest, then the ultrasound, and finally, the mri.

@powernap that’s true but then that’s two more tests but the doctor should investigate either way.
