Can you be diagnosed by a doctor that you had an actual stroke

Without any tests?

Someone I know told me he had a stroke and told the doctor his symptoms and the doctor confirmed he’d had a stroke but did not have any tests ordered. I said I’m pretty sure you’d need to have some kind of test for this to be confirmed and he said no just the doctor could tell without sending him for tests.

I feel like hes lying and looking for attention

Yes, a doctor could, but no way would they not run follow up tests.

@Ontheroad no testing in this case. I feel it would be negligent not to

@Jenny1234 yep, no competent doctor would forgo testing.

@Jenny1234 it’s definitely negligent not too.

@iamonfire696 right that’s the reason I don’t believe any of it

@Jenny1234 yeah, I'd doubt it myself. Doctors won't take the risk... that is for sure, if he/she didn't run the tests, a malpractice suit staring him/her in the face.

@Jenny1234 When the neurologist thought my Mom had a stroke he sent her for an MRI to confirm and he was right and now she has to take a low dose aspirin everyday.
