Please think positive thoughts for my sister

She is my best friend and is truly suffering. She developed diabetic neuropathy months ago. She has tried so hard to bring her sugar down but it is erratic. It is now to the point She has to be in a wheelchair if she goes out. The numbness in her feet is awful and she can barely feel it anymore. Some parts of neuropathy cannot be reversed. She is only 36. It is just heartwrenching thinking that some of this will not heal in her feet. I feel just horrible and helpless. She is the Kindest person you will ever know and doesn't deserve this on any level. She may get surgery if the insurance covers it (nerve decompression). Please send positive vibes if you can. Any tips welcome.

One of the best friends and man I ever knew (he is gone now) went through exactly what you are talking about. He eventually lost his right leg below the knee and was always struggling with his diabetes... it's a cruel and unrelenting thing when the person can't get it under control. I wish I had some tips for her, but I don't.

Sending out positive thoughts.

@Ontheroad Im sorry about your friend. It is such a horrible disease. Did he have it amputated because it was too numb to walk..or gangrene infection ?

@Coralmist sort of both... got to where he couldn't walk on it, then a sore develoed and gangrene set in. I'm so sorry that your sister is dealing with it... it's so debilitating.
