What’s the best way to prevent roller coaster’ing blood glucose ?

Type 2 DM here. Today my blood sugar has been anywhere from 70 to 275, and it’s only noon. I had oatmeal with strawberries and pecans and a few brown rice cakes with some cream cheese on them. Everything was stable and then two hours later, had an huge spike. Any ideas how to keep the glucose more stable?

The oatmeal, strawberries and cream cheese is what did you in. Do you take anything for your diabetes? I take Ozempic and Metformin.

@Musicman oatmeal usually works ok for me. I take Metformin in the morning, and insulin at night

@Musicman Ozempic is fucking evil, I only took the initial dose in July 2021, within a few days I had all the worst symptoms from hell, I barely made it to the toilet an hour after a small midnight snack.

@RockerDad My doctor told me to stay away from all cereals and all oats. I use to like cereal. ☹️

@Musicman It was deviled egg macaroni salad that set me off with massive sudden sweats within a half an hour, horrendous nausea, then a mad rush to the toilet before soiling myself.

@Musicman Surprisingly, both metformin and glimepiride don't give me any side effects whatsoever.

@NativePortlander1970 I haven’t had noticeable problems with it, but before the insulin, it didn’t seem to be helping all that much, despite increasing the dose
