One small pet peeve…

It bugs me when well-meaning friends (especially those who don’t see how I actually eat) feel the need to police even my [b]comments[/b] about food ("is that okay with your doctor ?") Having diabetes doesn’t mean you will never consume a gram of sugar or carb ever again lest you instantly drop dead. It means you take your meds, moderate your diet, exercise, lose weight if necessary, check your glucose faithfully and keep on top of your A1C (6.5 as of January 30, thank you).
I assume they mean well and just want to keep me around, but sheesh ! If I can’t even dream, what’s the point ? 😭

My A1C dropped, thanks to Ozempic, it seems. So I am more relaxed. Ozempic tricks the body to react more properly to high sugar, so I am not as worried. I worry about neuropathy, though. It has lessened as my sugars dropped, but I think some damage may be permanent.

Yet I have gotten so used to artificial sweeteners in my drinks that they do not annoy me as much. In a few cases, I think the artificial ones are better. For example, I put real sugar in my coffee last fall, after using only Splenda for 6 months. Real sugar was just not sweet enough any more for my tastes, LOL.

I wish somebody made Splenda ice cream bars, though. I miss ice cream bars.

Yesterday I found low carb ice cream bars!

I have already been buying Breyers Carb Smart ice cream cartons. They use "alcohol sugar" which I hope is not bad for me, like regular sugar is. The ice cream bars I found are the same brand, Carb Smart. I hope they are good!

I prefer ice cream bars over cartons because I cannot stand having to scoop out ice cream, especially if it is really cold and hard. Ice cream bars are so convenient. And the chocolate shell is nice! I hope the chocolate shell is Carb Smart, too!
