Kicking diabetes ass!

I know that no one really cares but I need someplace to brag. In the middle of March I weighed 221 pounds, I was on two different medications for diabetes (1000 mg twice a day of metformin and 4 mg twice a day of glimeperide) and the doctors wanted to add yet another medication, I was taking 20 mg once a day of lisinopril for blood pressure and 20 mg once a day of lovastatin for cholesterol. My glucose readings were averaging near 200 (should be under 140 for a diabetic) blood pressure was pushing 140/90, cholesterol was pretty well controlled but the number that scared me was my A1C which is a measure of glucose over the last three months, that was at 8.5 which can potentially disqualify me from my job as a truck driver, it needs to be below 8.0 and to be a controlled diabetic it should be below 6.5. Two months later basically just following my diet plan, my weight is down to 203, my glucose is averaging around 100, my blood pressure is averaging 105/65, and just today they took me off of my glimeperide completely and cut my blood pressure medication in half! My goal is to get my weight down to about 175 pounds and be completely off of my medications by february of next year (going on a cruise) so I don't feel too guilty cheating on the diet for a few days.
