@zonavar68 No, actually, I DON'T remember anything even close to that!!
Can you cite any examples of anyone ever saying that? I'll wait.

@ElwoodBlues It was a very common belief here that if you had no symptoms you were a bigger risk because you were presumed to be asymptomatic while carrying 'live virus'. It's why the push of even having the slightest sniffle, fever, etc. was a 'trigger requirement' to join the mile-long queues waiting for up to a few hours to get a free PCR test and hand over your medicare card info so it could be linked to your government health records.

@zonavar68 Where is "here"? I never saw that in the US where I live.

@ElwoodBlues Australia - we had it basically thrust down our throats that if you did not get tested with even the most minimal difference to your normal state of health you were not 'complying' with health directives issued by government agencies. The inference was that if you choose to ignore 'minor' symptoms or did not feel you had any change to your normal state of health that you were at high(er) risk of having Covid and spreading it 'unmonitored' and 'undetected'. This was at the time when state government's here were trying to enforce the use of flawed 'contact tracing' apps and systems, and pushing for people to 'check in' using a qr code accessed app anywhere they went.

@zonavar68 I think you are giving an incomplete and misleading summary of what people were saying.
Yes, they said, correctly, that being infected and asymptomatic posed an additional risk since you would not know to take caution. But nobody said that having no symptoms was a sign that you were infected.
My wife and I had loved ones who died from COVID.
People who joke about or minimize the seriousness of the pandemic are on my sh--list.

@zonavar68 DUUUDE!!!
You're TOTALLY living in the WRONG COUNTRY!!!
Australia had a Covid death rate 10X lower than the US.
Australia also has a murder rate 10X lower than the US.
If you want to live dangerously, you're doing it ALL WRONG!!
Come to the USA. But not just any state will do!! Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama top our murder rates, but stay away from the New England states – they're almost as safe as Australia! Mississippi also scores high in Covid deaths, so that's where you should move!!
As a special bonus, Mississippi is also home to some snake-handling Christian sects, such as the Free Will Holiness Pentecostal Church. Yes indeed, you can test how much God loves you by handling deadly vipers every Sunday. It's the PERFECT lifestyle for a guy like you!!!
