I recently had to block a user on here for spreading harmful disinformation on Covid-19 vaccinations - they claimed that "more people are killed by the vaccine than by guns".
This claim is patently false and easily refuted by looking at the extensive scientific literature on the topic (a sample of which is available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html).
Which got me thinking: what motivates people to spread this nonsense?

@Ontheroad I don't spread harmful disinformation.. I had Covid.. according to the Dr. Cold like Symptoms for 1 day.. wife the same.. My son had Covid 3 times.. same Symptoms.. we never took the jab.. no one was hospitalized.. we all lived happily ever after... THOSE are MY facts
@Snuffy1957 I didn't say you spread false information. Glad you and the family were lucky, which has nothing to do with the fact that for the vast majority, vaccinations keep them healthy and if they do contract whatever it is, they will get through it.
@Snuffy1957 Your anecdotal experience doesn't negate the collective experiences of billions of people worldwide. I'm glad you and your family fared well, but the facts show that vaccination is by far the best approach statistically.
@Snuffy1957 That's not a smart way to live if you can benefit from the experiences of others. You could take a six-shooter, load one chamber, spin the barrel, point it at your head and pull the trigger. And you lived. You could do the same for your wife and son and perhaps they survived. That doesn't mean what you did was safe or that you should continue to do it when the same thing done by millions of people would result in a death rate of 1 in 6.
@windinhishair Well my way of thinking has worked for 66 years.... But I don't judge others for THEIR choices! If y'all want to stick each other with whatever thats your Business..
@Snuffy1957 You are missing the point... it's what the anti-vaxers help spread, and how they influence others to not take vaccines. You do you, but if you are part of a problem instead of part of the solution, expect to be judged.
@Ontheroad No... YOU are missing the point.. I live out in the woods away from all that shit and frankly don't give a dam what society does to each other.. No problem for Me..
@Snuffy1957 You are free to make your own choices as long as they don't negatively impact others. But you are fooling yourself if you ignore the science, even if that is your choice to ignore it.
@Ontheroad ACTUALLY I Do care... but society is so busy back stabbing and running down each other I just gave up :( I guess that's the new " United We Stand" thing..
