My workplace is so boring post Covid

No one shows up anymore despite the rule that we are suppose to show up twice a week. I'm in an office of about 800 people and I bet there are like 60 people here. It feels post apocalyptic.

Anyone around Toronto want to go for lunch? lol

Awwwww....sweetie! I feel for you!

My unit - an IT one - was told we had to get back to the office, post Covid, in, like, March, last year. All of us were worried but desperate to get back.

We had the option of working a couple of days per week at home, if so required, and all of us were suffering from something like cabin fever and all of us have stayed within the offices.

It's that social interaction that I felt we all missed....and we, more or less, hang out together - socially - when we can.

Hugs to you....

☺️

My work is customer facing so we’re never short of people. Plus we were key workers so we never closed. I went on furlough for a while and coming back to work was highly traumatising but I’m glad I don’t have to worry about making my own mind up about whether I come to work or not. Sometimes no choice is the easier choice lol

Ive got used to working from home
Although i miss the social of the office. But there's only 1 person going in to the office so i feel little point, plus the lady is quiet anyway
Maybe the office will get busier closer to summer?

@Gangstress Same, I do like this hybrid model of the office and home. The reason I like coming into the office is to get out of the house and socialize,; but what's the point if there is no one here? lol Plus for me its even sillier since the rest of my team is actually on the other side of the country.

I don't see it getting any better unless they start getting super strict about it.

@JimboSaturn its been the same here. I did wish others would go in but ugh lol.
Im mainly going in once a month atm but will go in more over spring and summer ☀️ good excuse to get on thr bicycle 🚲 lol

At least your able to work and get paid. I'm in Aged Care. One sniffle and you can't work till your better and they wont pay you for time off... Currently I've had to self isolate the past 7 days because I am a close contact.

@Thevy29 Yes I am lucky I'm salaried and get sick days and can work from home.
How are people living without going to work? and why don't they stop asking us about a recession? This is a recession
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@DIABLISS At my work, they are all working from home. But true we are having a hard time finding good candidates for jobs which was unheard of before covid.
@JimboSaturn it is so sad

My ex says the exact same thing

That's a big deficit 😯

How did you manage post covid. China is brewing up a few variants that have no vaccine yet as we speak!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Pfuzylogic I'm fine, I'm triple vaxed and most of Canadians are vaxed too.
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
aren't you enjoying the space? 😇
SarithBorn · 18-21, M
@JimboSaturn sounds like heaven to me 🤣

@SarithBorn Well you would love it here!!

I heard something similar at my cousin's work place. Only like three people show up a week at the office. Which is crazy
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@empanadas It's very surreal.
