How many people do you know who have gotten Covid and how many do you know that have died from it?

Dozens, including coworkers who “did their own research” , and refused the vaccine. Within my own personal circle, a close friend from high school, who died a week after his 1st grandchild was born, never actually having held her in his arms. Every death has followed a depressing pattern:

@SW-User ironically the people I know who are vaccinated get positive results a lot more than me who has never got it. I'd stop gloating over people's deaths because their ideas didn't line up with your own

@SW-UserYou must be misreading things. I’m not gloating over their deaths. Some were people I worked with for years, cultivating a very positive rapport that extended in both directions. The close friend was someone I’d known for 39 years, since our high school days. Most literally followed the template in the meme above, including my friend. His brother, just as conservative as he was, told me in a distraught phone call that “he wound up dying to own the libs”. Furthermore, the reason vaxxed people are getting positive results is because there are too many unvaxxed people for the US population to reach herd immunity, so that new variants are constantly surfacing. I myself have come up positive after being vaxxed, because I work with so many people who are unvaxxed. The only difference is that I’m still living and breathing, and some of them are not.

ETA: I teach in a maximum security prison. Unvaccinated custody officers bring in the virus, and it spreads like wildfire among the inmates, who are quite literally a captive population.

Funny how the unvaccinated get the blame for spreading it, when vaccinated spread it just as much if not more.

@SW-User the vaxxed will spread covid at a much higher rate, that is a fact. The jab of death can make you a covid spreader because it hides symptoms but doesn’t in any way stop or prevent it at all. No one wants to have that discussion

Funny how my son got covid from a vaccinated family member while in quarantine with them and my son who isn’t vaccinated didn’t pass it me or my daughter. Who also isn’t vaccinated.

Trust the science 🙄

@SW-User Funny how you’’ve provided no link to substantiate your claim.

A link to what? I’m talking about my experience. 👀

@SW-User My experience is vastly different. The correctional institution where I teach houses a population of inmates who are 99.9% vaccinated, because the transmission rate once it was brought into the facility landed a massive amount of them in quarantine at one point or another-in a number of cases, elderly inmates were transported to the hospital. Who brought this in? Well, before the vaccine, potentially any member of the staff, as no one was being transported from the jails for months. After the vaccine (of which 90% of the staff has received both shots and boosters), the unvaccinated officers. I’ve seen colleagues sicken enough to retire earlier than they intended to, with several dying. They’re the vector now. The meme I posted might seem callous, but reflects the reality I see around me-close friends make sport of the vaccine on social media, sicken, call for prayer warriors, and then their families run go fund me’s to pay for funeral expenses, or in some cases, bills until the will shakes out. One in particular had been a friend for 39 years, since my freshman year of high school, and didn’t get the vaxx because “Mah freedom!” , and never got to hold his newborn grandchild.

Can the virus spread from vaxxed individuals? Of course it can, but the Mayo Clinic puts it at.a rate 41% lower than people who refuse the vaccine, with variants doing the damage, because we haven’t reached herd immunity, which is how we’ve wiped out epidemics in the past.

@SW-User Experience that precisely matches the science.. I have a LOT or respect for your answer because it is not opinion it is fact based. Your observations mirror what science teaches... people might not LIKE what you have to say but they best pay your words great heed... I went to our cities boat show today, I broke out my 4th KN9 respirator.. almost NO one was masked on public transit despite being in close proximity to others, at the show it was the same thing very few people indoors wearing masks... I listen to science and I follow the science.. fully vaccinated - five immunizations.. I WEAR my mask and I avoid crowds generally...The result is that so far I have avoided getting infected. THANK you for a well written and well considered response...

So the Mayo clinic did a study and came up with that result, how many did they study ?
my question would be does pfizer fund them to do the study.
My guess would be they they did.

Science, data and studies can be bought.
I don’t trust any of them, the data from the start was highly misleading, the death rate was never as bad as they made out. many died in hospital from the drugs they gave and not from covid but that gets covered up and people get silenced, or you’re just a conspiracy theorist.

Looks like we’re going to agree to disagree, though I would add that the Mayo Clinic is a non-profit academic center that specializes in research, and receives funding through both the NIH and through private charitable foundations. They have absolutely no need to accept corporate money, as they’re generously endowed. @SW-User

Yep we both see things differently 😌
