The benefit of ivermectin against Covid is likely overblown, most of the studies showing its effectiveness were in populations that were infected with parasites, and since that is what ivermectin is typically used for, it showed some benefits with these populations.
Probably not effective for Westerners who have better diets and overall health.
But what did happen is the government and media promoted a misinformation campaign trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated, instead of the ineffectiveness of the vaccines themselves in preventing the spread of Covid. They promoted stories that the only use and benefit of ivermectin was as a horse dewormer, and pretended this is what people were taking instead of acknowledging that the drug is readily available and easy to come by. This ended when the media promoted a story about gun shot victims in Oklahoma not being seen in the emergency room due to it being overwhelmed with Covid patients. It was a fake story, and that was the catalyst to ending the misinformation campaign about ivermectin and the Covid vaccines.

trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated,
No, they didn't say that. If you have to exaggerate like that, all you have is a straw man argument.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@ElwoodBlues Yes they did. You're a silly silly man if you want to claim otherwise.

"Evidence shows that COVID-19 is now really a pandemic of the unvaccinated," said Dr. Denise Gonzales, the medical director at Presbyterian Healthcare Services and one of the physicians who gave a public briefing on COVID-19 on Tuesday. "What we're seeing is it's the people who aren't getting vaccinated (that are being hospitalized). That tends to be younger people, not necessarily with medical problems. Maybe there is a sense that they are invincible."

In 2021, the 75% of Americans fully vaccinated produced under 20% of the Covid deaths, while the 25% unvaccinated Americans produced over 80% of the Covid deaths.
In 2021, the 75% of Americans fully vaccinated produced under 31% of Covid cases; while the 25% unvaccinated Americans produced nearly 70% of Covid cases.
This means the US unvaccinated had a 5X higher chance of contracting Covid compared to the vaccinated per capita, and that overall the unvaccinated had about a 15X higher probability of Covid death per capita.
Some people called this a pandemic of the unvaccinated, and that's accurate. It means the same disease which had flu-like effects among the vaccinated was 15X more deadly among the unvaccinated.

Dude, really? Do you even read what I write or just wait until I respond so you can post another one of your well worn propaganda responses?
Do you even read your own replies? You literally just confirmed what I said in your response.
And you're gonna refuse to link to any evidence, LOL!!!

@SumKindaMunster Sorry, you EDITED your post, thus I didn't see your link until after I had posted. Don't worry, I edited my post to correct. So let's address your quote.
"What we're seeing is it's the people who aren't getting vaccinated (that are being hospitalized). That tends to be younger people, not necessarily with medical problems. Maybe there is a sense that they are invincible."
Versus your claim:trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated,
The quote says it's the unvaccinated who are getting hospitalized. The quote makes no claims about spreading. Did you even read it before you posted?? LOL!!!
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@ElwoodBlues Uh huh. And why are they getting hospitalized? Because the virus is spreading amongst them.
Is this really what passes for a relevant rebuttal in your mind?
And how about your own comment?
Forgot to edit that out I guess.

@SumKindaMunster They are getting hospitalized because the disease is more severe among the unvaccinated.
Face it, your quote doesn't support your claim. Care to try again??

@ElwoodBlues I'm not responding to your disingenuous responses here. You are childishly picking fly shit out of pepper in a desperate and craven attempt to gain the upper hand after you responded in haste.
Still now comment about your own statement huh? It just further illustrates that you are a shitty debater and this is likely why I am among the handful of people who even bother to respond to you. Most people completely ignore you.

@SumKindaMunster There's nothing disingenuous about PROVING that your quote doesn't support your claim.
Face it, neither quote supports your claim. Care to try again??

That's 100% data driven, and in no way implies that the only spread is due to unvaccinated. In fact it implies the opposite - yes, there's spread among the vaccinated but the disease is about as serious as a flu - a disease society already accepts.Face it, neither quote supports your claim. Care to try again??
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@ElwoodBlues No I don't because you aren't responding in good faith and changed your stance mid stream.
You asked me to provide proof that there was propaganda stating this was a pandemic of the unvaccinated. I provided a quote and a link, then you changed the nature of the disagreement to suit your desperate attempt to keep the "conversation" going and try to gain the upper hand.
Anything else? You want to get the last word in? I know that's important as well....

I asked you to provide support for this claim:
You can't support that claim, so YOU changed your stance midstream to the "pandemic of the unvaccinated."
But "pandemic of the unvaccinated" does not in any way imply
You asked me to provide proof that there was propaganda stating this was a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
FALSSE!! DEAD WRONG!!!I asked you to provide support for this claim:
trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated,
That's why I quoted that particular claim. You can't support that claim, so YOU changed your stance midstream to the "pandemic of the unvaccinated."
But "pandemic of the unvaccinated" does not in any way imply
trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated,
So your original claim is dead in the water. What's your next play? Gonna edit your top post and remove that phrase because it's indefensible??

@SumKindaMunster A typo? That's all you've got?? LOL!!!
Your quote:
Face it, your quote doesn't support your claim. Use all the ad hominem fallacies you like, your original claim is still indefensible.

@SumKindaMunster First you said:
Instead, you said:
Perhaps you will show enough wisdom to not dig yourself any deeper in this hole, LOL!!!
trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated,
I challenged that, so you offered the following example as evidence of your claim. "What we're seeing is it's the people who aren't getting vaccinated (that are being hospitalized). That tends to be younger people, not necessarily with medical problems. Maybe there is a sense that they are invincible."
Problem is, your support quote says it's the unvaccinated who are getting hospitalized. The quote makes no claims about spreading. Did you even read it before you posted?? I guess not, because you made a few excuses about disingenousness and abandoned your original "solely due to people not getting vaccinated" claim.Instead, you said:
You asked me to provide proof that there was propaganda stating this was a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
But the text record above clearly proves that false! The text record above clearly proves I asked you to provide support for the original claim:trying to say that the continued spread of Covid 19 was solely due to people not getting vaccinated,
That's why I quoted that particular claim. Perhaps you will show enough wisdom to not dig yourself any deeper in this hole, LOL!!!
