zonavar68 So I see you're not doubting the efficacy of the mRNA vaccines against the original Covid wildtype nor against the alpha thru delta variants. As the links I posted elsewhere under this question show, in 2021, the 75% of Americans fully vaccinated produced under 20% of the Covid deaths, while the 25% unvaccinated Americans produced over 80% of the Covid deaths. Overall the unvaccinated had about a 15X higher probability of Covid death per capita in 2021. That's a pretty damned good efficacy record for the vaccines.
Now we are two years and many variants later, and I expect new vaccine variants by autumn. Evolution among viruses doesn't rest, so we can't either.
I often see the straw man fallacy where people complain that some medical treatment isn't 100% perfect and isn't 100% free of side effects. Public health doesn't work that way. There is no 100% safe path in life. You can't eliminate all risks. The vaccines have been a huge public health success and have saved millions of lives in the US. But feel free to avoid the vaccines; it's your choice. Just don't go spreading lies about vaccines.
