Do u believe that the Covid-19 vaccination is a waste of time ? 😷

Well lets see. When you have numerous reports of side effects and strange but sudden deaths, then you know that something is seriously wrong. You either are in deep denial or is someone who is afraid to admit the truth. I am neither. Therefore I will be noone's experiment project. Something is not right about this entire situation here. What good is a vaccination when you dont even know yourself what is being put inside of your body. Plus it is not even 100% effective. Comments please.

First. Great post.

I didn't get the vax and my dad did.
I didn't want it because I felt it got pushed through to fast and didn't feel there was enough testing done before the FDA decided that it would ok it for emergency use.

End results. Dad ended up getting it anyway and passed from complications.
I got it from him and got pneumonia to boot and put in ICU for eight days.
While I was there they treated me with "Experimental Steroids".
So which was worse???? The roids worked and the Vac. didn't.
@Dainbramadge Sorry about your dad but that doesn't prove what you think it does but your post proves conclusively your knowledge of the subject consists of random shit from the internet and not facts. And the first part of your post is nullified by the last part. You don't want the vaccine because you claim it was rushed, but you are cool with being a guinea pig for experimental treatments that have no proven track record. So you don't want something that has approval by multiple agencies across the globe but you prefer to be in a clinical trial. Okay.

And since when has anyone claimed the vaccine is a magical cure all?

And I am sorry to say one random person's personal anecdote does disprove the overwhelming data we have at this point.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Wow. I either wrote my comment incoherently or you mis-read what it was intended to say.

My comment never said I read anything that made me not want to be vaxed.
It was strictly what I felt about it at the time.
Then I finished with the irony that I was then treated with experimental drugs.

You must be looking for a fight is the only thing I gathered from your comment.
@Dainbramadge This entire thread has been anti vaxx nonsense so stuff like that is dangerous.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I was just pointing out the irony of my experience.
You seem to have jumped the gun looking for something that wasn't there.
@Dainbramadge And that is fine. But my point here is posting it to a thread with anti vaxx conspiracy theories where you see people pushing snake oil and even claiming the vaccine re-writes your DNA (which is impossible) is probably not the best place to do that without inadvertently confirming the bias of these folks. Just something to think about.

As for your post the bit about FDA approval has been the excuse for many in this camp till they had to move the goalpost on that one too so given where it was posted it seemed like a logical assumption at the time.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You know what they say about assumptions?
So what you are saying is you jumped on me because of where I posted not what I posted.
That looks to me like someone looking for a fight.
@Dainbramadge I said it was a combination of both.

If you don't want to be assumed to be a crazy lunatic, posting to the "crazy lunatics anonymous" board is probably not the best way to go about it.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow So you would like to take my freedom of speech away because someone like you could assume the wrong thing.
All I did was to post my experience to a thread that had relevance to it.
@Dainbramadge Never even implied that. And that is not how the 1st amendment works but that is another discussion.

Just saying be aware of where you post stuff if you don't want people to draw conclusions. Real simple.

Rights don't mean you bear no responsibility for your actions.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm not trying to dodge responsibility for what I wrote.
I was simply making an ironic statement.
I don't see where there was any room to twist it to mean anything other than what I wrote.
So, as I have stated a few times already, you look like you are just looking to fight and argue with someone. Anyone will do.
@Dainbramadge Context matters.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow And you admitted to scewing my context with an assumption rather than what I wrote because of where I wrote it.
@Dainbramadge You clearly want a fight because you seem incapable of acknowledging that your post doesn't exist in a vacuum.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Never said it did or should.
You keep trying to tell me what I meant when I wrote it.
@Dainbramadge That is exactly what is implied by suggesting your words be taken at face value and ignore all context.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Then why are you the only one who implied anything except what I wrote???
@Dainbramadge Ironic you should say that because you are making an assumption based on the fact I am the one who chose to respond. What was that about assumptions again?
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That was a stretch and a not very good one at that.
I don't have to make any assumptions about you. You are putting it very clear.
You just want to fight and argue.
@Dainbramadge No, I only posted because I have been trying to counter the metric ton of bullshit being posted on this thread. As you can see I have responded to multiple people with that goal in mind. You are not that special. lol

TREATMENT

PREVENTION
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Graylight I apologize if I missed something obvious but I'm not sure I follow what you are saying.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Dainbramadge The Covid vaccines help prevent the disease from ever getting on board and develops a future lethal response to the virus in the body. It responds and adapts to a previously unknown virus, for which there was no prevention prior to vaccines. Immune responses are based on exposure and no exposure had yet occurred.

Steroids - not an FDA approved treatment for Covid - may alleviate symptoms, they may keep the body stronger, they may help increase certain levels (maybe) but they in no way can respond to or prevent a virus for which it is not capable of defending. Steroids don't vaccinate. Ever.

One is a prevention. One might make your body feel better (or destroy it, depending on how you use them), but it's not going head to head with Covid.

A well-known recent meta-study on the efficacy of corticosteroids as a treatment for Covid found: Administration of systemic corticosteroids, compared with usual care or placebo, was associated with lower 28-day all-cause mortality in critically ill patients with COVID-19. Another study, https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-80654-x found no difference at all.

Treatment does not equal prevention. Treatment (as with steroids) is bandaging the bleeding shark bite well. Vaccination is preventing the shark from biting at all.

@Graylight I understand what you meant now. Thank you for the clarification. :-)
