@Zonuss There are still over 1,500 people dying of covid every day in the US, so it hasn't gone down much. The deaths are still much higher than they were this summer. Hopefully by next summer it will be reduced to a bare minimum.

@Zonuss I think now that maybe the trick of a really good pandemic isn't the initial tidal wave of deaths. That's significant to be sure, but it may be the ability of the thing to just wear us down over time that may be its greatest strength.

If we're hit with an even deadlier wave than we've already experienced, I'm sure we wouldn't see lockdowns, quarantines, mandates or anything like that. We're tired, we don't want to play this game any more.

If only nature gave a damn about how we feel.

@Zonuss You're kidding yourselves. Here in Europe we're into the fifth wave and new mandates , even with high vaccination rates. Enjoy the lull but it won't last.

@RodionRomanovitch And as Europe goes, so goes the US. It doesn't help that we've just lifted all travel bans, so this Christmas will be another petri dish for the south.

No new Covid mandates. In fact, existing Covid measures have been relaxed in recent weeks🤷‍♂️

@Graylight Let me just add that I'm a staunch supporter of ALL Covid measures. TBH, I arrived in the UK this morning and it's freaking me out that very few people are wearing masks.

To be honest (and obvious), the US isn't always on top of the nuanced complexities of Europe. We like to fight about more pedantic things, like whether our VP smirked at a meeting and whether a senator dozed off during 14 hours of testimony.

@Graylight We have our share of anti-vax nutjobs. The difference is, they are not in government positions. Basically, they make a bit of noise but that's about it.

@room101 All over , to a greater or lesser degree. Here in France , masks are mandatory once again in primary schools. In Germany they are even talking about new lockdowns.

@Graylight Well it appears to me that herd immunity is in effect now. Cases are down significantly. Reports of the media still going on with exaggerated claims about Covid-19. In my area the energy has subsided. Most are vaccinated. So that means it's gone around already. Only a few stories left about this virus now. But trust me it was much different back in September than it is right now. So yes progress has been made. 🙂

You couldn't be more of a liar if you were trying. The data ARE starting to trend down, but remain well over 1,000 every day. Perhaps we'll reach the threshold you posted in late 2022 or 2023. Hold on to it and you can say that you were correct, just a couple of years off in timing.

@Zonuss What is a "Vivid" death? Is that another "fact" you made up? There are more than a thousand covid deaths every day in the US right now. You continue to be a liar and must have a severe underlying psychosis to do so without relenting. Even most anti-vaxxer trolls and deniers admit that there are covid (or is it Vivid?) deaths.

Please get the psychiatric help that you need now.

We are pretty much back to normal with no restrictions at all except for crossing the border on the way in when you have to have been fully vaccinated to avoid quarantine. @Zonuss Check the CDC or Johns Hopkins websites where they track daily deaths. We've been trending down but remain well over 1,000 per day in the US. I provided you the link yesterday. You should try reading and educating yourself instead of proving yourself the fool every single day.

@windinhishair Its fake. We have had days where there were less than a thousand dead in a day. Last week at least one day no reported Covid deaths.
