I wonder what you think

Right now there is an atmosphere around of covid is over really , things are starting to open hurray . And I almost believe it

Then I think of what’s happening in India and a lot of their population is vaccinated yet still .

I also think about how the vaccine is not actually a vaccine for covid .

I’m one of those ppl who think the world shouldn’t have closed for this , but since it did why open now honestly nothing really has changed

I agree that the world shouldn't have closed for this. Especially when you consider the fact that places that made masks mandatory and had lockdowns had a huge increase in covid cases rising while places that didn't lock down and didn't mandate masks decreased in case numbers, like Texas. My folks are always blindly believing whatever the media tells them about this new strain or that new one in Florida, even though from what anyone I know who actually lives in Florida has said, they're doing very well over there. Even if they weren't, we can't just shut the entire world down forever. You can't play God and control nature or control viruses. For the people who run states that are still locked down or have considered more lockdowns, that's never going to work. To think they can control the world and control an entire disease and prevent deaths from happening is just insane to me. They have a really bad God complex to think they can do all that and succeed. Covid is just another thing we're all gonna have to learn to live with and adapt to, because Covid is never gonna go away, not entirely. The only disease we have ever fully eradicated ever in human history is smallpox, but even then, that still exists now but only inside of labs and that's it. If you fuck around and hang out in the Arizona desert, apparently you can still get the black plague from that. So I really have no faith that Covid will ever be gone, just that it won't be as severe at some point seeing as we're all gonna be vaccinated for it and have no severe symptoms if any of us do get it.

No, nothing has changed. There's still a lot of people being diagnosed with Covid-19, even with vaccines available. I haven't checked the death rates, but hopefully they have gone down. My state is getting rid of the mask law, but I will probably still wear mine awhile, even though I have already had covid, and am fully vaccinated.

There are no actual vaccines for covid as one normally understands vaccines. They are gene therapies designed to trigger a person's immune response to a virus. The problem is the response may well be beyond what is required to kill the virus with the result of the immune response killing the human. When this concept was used on animals the animals all died not immediately but when they came in contact with the virus they were vaccinated against. I won't be getting vaccinated and will rely on my own body's natural ability to fight the virus. It is the course of least risk at the moment.

@hippyjoe1955 it definitely respect your decision not to get vaccinated, but I think, at your age, your risk of getting covid and suffering long term effects from covid is much greater than the risk of getting the vaccine. I’ve lost many loved ones and personally know people who didn’t get a severe case of covid but are now suffering greatly of other inflammatory ailments in their organs. Covid is tricky. Even healthy people hace had different reactions so why play the Russian roulette and put your life at such great risk? Wishing you the best in health!

@Petals Actually the vaccine is much more dangerous than the disease. I will take my chances.

Covid is not "over".

A lot of India's pop is not vaxxed.

The vaccine is most certainly a vaccine for covid.

The world did not shut down properly for the pandemic. If it had, we wouldn't have seen so many deaths to date. We open partially now that people are getting the vaccine, duh. Travel to and from some places is restricted.

@SW-User I know covid is not over that’s the point of my post . I’m saying nothing has changed so why open up .
The vaccine is for your immune system , this helps obviously with covid .

I watched s video and in it they were saying a lot of their population is vaccinated. I also have an Indian friend she told me her sis just got vaccinated because they were vaccinating all their med students .
So I put two and two together
SW-User
@Pureblossom Things have changed enough in some places, as hospital admissions are down.

That's how vaccines work.

Two and two don't equal "a lot of their population". India has a massive population.
Pureblossom · 22-25, F
The line a lot of their population was in a news piece I watched not my own . They don’t equal but I figured if they where vaccinating young ppl surely their elderly where taken care of and and those more at risk .
( these are Med students not doctors . They were not in hospitals )

Can't say I really understand what's going on, but we're told what to do with threats put on us if we don't.
