In Darwinian terms you are quite right.. we could stand to lose a couple of billion easily. I even have a few suggestions who to include.
The problem being it wont be them who go, and no one will learn a thing.

@whowasthatmaskedman Perth has two and there are 30 operating in Australia to date.
Rich Countries can afford to build these plants.
Poorer countries populations will go thirsty.
