We are supposed to register when we visit a store. For contact tracing purposes

All Government buildings are mandatory, someone on the door to ensure compliance.
Other businesses have the code to register by phone.
I visited local Supermarket, completed shop, at register was asked, "Have you registered?"
"No I have Not"

There have been compliance teams operating in SA. Both businesses and customers are being fined for non compliance. I think it is the States responsibility. Businesses here are not asking although they the QR codes and manual systems available. From my observation two thirds of customers are not using either system. I do not have a problem using my phone to check in.

@Gusman I am actually more comfortable using the phone than a manual system. I believe they erase the phone collected data after 28 days. I use tin foil in the kitchen not for hats.
