I finally recovered from COVID

Wow that really sucked! Guys this virus isn’t a joke. I treated it like one and I payed for it!
No one knows yet whether there are any long term after effects.
Some viruses carry periods of latency with secondary and tertiary phases.
Some cause damage to organs that may not show up til later in life.
We also still don't know whether having had the virus gives us immunity against catching it again.
And, while there is some evidence around the world that there are now several strains, we still don't know how fast it mutates.
We're going to need to be more cautious for a very long time if we want even half a chance of overcoming this pandemic.
Over 200 vaccines currently being studied; 15 have begun safety trials with human volunteers. It will be another 12 -18 months at least before we know whether we will have an effective and safe vaccine. And longer than that to build the plant that can manufacture over 7 Billion doses. It will probably take at least two vaccinations per person. And we don't know whether it will need to be repeated each year to maintain immunity.

SARS is also a respiratory disease. We also have antibody testing now@hartfire
@smileylovesgaming Probably not everyone. In some countries it will be legally optional. In others, despite it being mandatory, some will manage to avoid getting it and not be caught because they are illegal residents or in some way not registered as existing.
The World Health Organisation plans to roll out the vaccines across the entire world, and most of the countries who are members agree with this policy. Poor countries will get free vaccinations. First world nations are already building the plants with the specific technologies required to manufacture on an exponential scale.
Although, if we're lucky, the vaccination might only be required once - the greater likelihood is that it will need to be at least twice, and possibly annual.
That will mean far more than 7 billion.
@hartfire Update. We now know that many people do not fully recover from Covid-19.
Long term damage to heart, lung, kidney and brain tissues are common for people who have had it so severely that they ended up in intensive care. This is more common for people over forty. But some people in their twenties and previously healthy in all ways have also had extreme effects.

It seems to hit people different. I had it 4 months ago and it was similar to a cold. My neighbor had it last month and it was more like the flu.

I'm glad you're better. Yes, it isn't a joke. I know 2 people who died from it and, I'm pretty sure I had it at the beginning of the year.

Hit me pretty hard but it didn't feel any worse than a major cold. Several sponge baths later and I was good again.
