I Have Something To Say About Coronavirus / Covid19

As the post-plandemic lockdown/quarantine rules get relaxed (as they are starting to now here in Australia), will anything change for how you go about your daily life compared to what you're doing currently? Did the lockdown/quarantine bring about any changes for you or has it been 'business as usual' with few or no significant changes?

For me, it's been basically the same the whole way through with no material changes to work, and what I do outside of work other that coping with the entrenchment of the 'dirty money' belief, distancing socially, and some community activities like volunteer emergency service and landcare stopped or stripped back to bare minimum. Days off are still spent normally at home and sometimes with my nearly 3 y/o daughter if I am not drained from shiftwork.

I have had no relationship or romantic exploits going since at least 3 yrs ago so that's just as per usual. Those who do - good fortune to you!

I feel for everyone who's become forcibly unemployed and now having to jump through the hoops of getting any applicable social security (in Australia there is JobSeeker * and Jobkeeper **) government payments with the draconian machinations required to qualify and stay entitled to receive that support. I feel very privileged that my job has is in a business area (heavy transport) considered an 'essential service' and 'allowed' to continue operating basically as normal and that my employment (even though shiftwork) is permanent full-time.

* - Jobseeker Payment is an Australian government welfare payment to people unemployed or underemployed looking for a new job. It used to be called Newstart and has been around in various forms for a long time. It is essentially a minimum payment provided in exchange for an unemployed or underemployed person making genuine efforts to get a new job.

** - Jobkeeper Payment is a special program the Oz government created in response to the covid-19 pandemic in Feb/Mar this year basically 'insuring' businesses by paying them money for each registered and eligible employee either still on the books or been sacked or stood down directly due to the pandemic. Most casual (temp) workers in Australia are not eligible though so a majority of people who didn't have a permanent part-time or full-time job before the pandemic miss out.
