Since I can't receive the normal medical care that I would expect because the UK health system is more or less closed because of it, I think this is more than 'ordinary' people being scared. The medics have no reason to be frightened of 'flu and the politicians no desire to close down whole economies by telling people to stay isolated. This is a disaster that will cause many to consider just how fragile are the foundations their lives are built on and perhaps understand that globalisation is more than a mere economic term. We are connected around the planet, like it or not.
