It is fatal in roughly 2% of cases. These cases, all being people with already compromised immune systems or the elderly.

@Zeusdelight I too discourage spreading fear through misinformation but she didn't post any misinformation. She didn't post any information at all. She asked where people think they'd be safest from it. I could ask the same thing about malaria, or yellow fever, or any other disease.

@BlueMetalChick Sorry, not criticising the questioner. I should have been clearer. Thank you for pointing that out so I have a chance to clear things up. There were some comments in the responses that I was having a go at.
