Is there a cancer gene and if so, what are my chances on getting cancer?

On my dad's side of the family, my Great grandfather had cancer and died, my grandfather and grandmother has cancer and my dad had cancer and died from it. Im not completely sure if ky great grandmother had cancer, i know she died at a young age, my grandmother had trouble talking about. I'm not sure of my mom's side, alot of my mom's side has addiction issues.

Only a few cancers are influenced by hereditary susceptibility. They would be the likes of breast cancer and colorectal cancer. The majority of cancers are not hereditary in any way. So it would depend on which cancers were in your family history as to whether you are at greater risk or not.
