For the cancer survivors on here:

what stage, what type of cancer and what treatment? For the record I have never had cancer.
Ontheroad · M
Stage 3 Colon, radiation, chemo, surgery, surgery, surgery, post surgery radiation and clear for a couple of years now.

@Ontheroad that is scary. I looked up the survival rate--said 91 % but still given the important of the colon that is nerve racking. I am glad you are ok.
Ontheroad · M
@robertsnj yep, I was certain I'd make it from the get go, but there were complications, so instead of a single surgery, I had them slicing and dicing three times.

Husband has 2 different types of lung cancer. One is Stage 2 with 2/3 of his lung gone and chemo. The other is Stage 1 and had radiation. It’s been 4 years.

@robertsnj he quit 25 years ago. I’m sure it contributed but his work environment and radon were most likely contributors. So far I have dodged the bullet but sometimes living with someone that has it is just as awful. Heartbreaking!

All types of cancers are increasing so it pays to know the symptoms and have the appropriate exams as you age.

I'm getting a biopsy next week, will let you know afterward.

Curious as to why you're curious.

@Handfull1 Thank you.

@uncalled4 I hope the best for you. I figured it was an introspective question and I think I saw enough people over the years who talked about cancer on here---maybe a thread was overdue.

'Twas the tiddy cancer. Caught it in stage 1A. Mastectomy and radiation.

Currently in remission.

@LordShadowfire my friend just passed away Sunday. Unnecessarily! I promised her I would pass this on. She had breast cancer 15 years ago and had a mastectomy. After that, procedures were not to check that breast with ultrasound or CT. 3 years ago it came back in her chest wall and had spread. Please women (and men), advocate for better care and don’t just accept the status quo if you feel something isn’t right. Just an FYI
@Handfull1 That's what I did. I was doing regular checks, and found something wrong.
