My mom has stage 4 ovarian cancer

More specifically, Uterine serous carcinoma.

Confirmed today.

Spread to 7 nodules on her lungs.

All of this came from going to the doctor over severe acid reflux. If you have that, get checked asap.

I'm so, confused.

She doesn't smoke, drink, do drugs. She doesn't even take ANY medication.

She's a babysitter, Sunday school teacher.

My angel and best friend.

Never on any medications. Not a fast food addict.

7 nodules on both lungs ranging up to 7mm.

Rare uterine cancer.

How? Just how?

We have convinced her to do chemo. Does anyone have any herbal supplements or anything that they used?

From coworkers that are cancer survivors/spouses this is what I've heard:

Soursop tea (2x a day)
vitamin c
align pre and pro biotic
echinacea goldenseal
apricot seeds
curcumin
ginger
gingko
cayanne
garlic

She will be doing chemo too.

There's no rhyme or reason with cancer.
And the 'Why me ?' question could be down to anything from genes to former working environments to carcinogens in the materials used in building your home.

Oncologists are smart folk.
All you can do is follow their advice and try and ask questions as they occur to you.

I'm afraid i know nothing on the benefits or otherwise of natural remedies but I suspect they might have more of a psychological effect than a medical one.
Ginger for example has long been used as an aid to counter nausea or vomiting.

@Picklebobble2 We are being poisoned in a multitude of ways. Everything from what’s in the tap water here in the USA to chemicals and heavy metals that are being found in foods, supplements, hygiene items, cleaning products, cosmetics, air (industrial pollutants), etc. Well water here on campus was found to be have one of the highest levels of arsenic in the entire USA. I had lived in a campus apartment for over 11 years while working on campus. They shut down the wells as a result and switched over to the city’s public water supply. About a year after I moved to an off-campus apartment water testing results were made public. After I lived in other parts of the city for about a decade water testing revealed that the city’s water was found to have high levels of chromium hexavalent, one of the highest levels in the USA. Both arsenic and chromium hexavalent are linked to cancer formation. The chlorine that is added to water is another carcinogen. Two of the lipsticks I had used starting 17 years ago for a couple years were tested by an independent consumer agency and found to have lead in them. I was anemic during the time I was using them and was very anemic despite taking a good iron supplement daily. The anemia stopped after I stopped using the lipsticks, they had been discontinued by the manufacturer. Lead is also considered a carcinogen.

There is a lot of research being done on foods and other things that are anti-angiogenesis (things that stop the formation of cancer stem cells) with good results so it is not a psychological thing. It’s a new branch of medicine. Blackseed oil (from the Nigella flower plant) has been the subject of over 400 medical research studies around the world. Boswellia is another herb that is highly anti inflammatory and said to be an anti carcinogenic. Meriva turmeric high in cucurmin has been recommended by some oncologists before breast cancer surgery because it has some anti-cancer properties. Many more, in fact a long list of foods, herbs etc that are anti-angiogenesis.

@cherokeepatti We have a type of an apricot tree which doesn't produce bitter seeds yet we don't eat many of them in one go just to be safe.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@CrazyMusicLover Someone went overseas and brought them here. I think you can find them online for sale. Have to make sure they are not irradiated because it neutralized the Laetrile in them.
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@MrBrownstone yeah ,my stage 4 cancer surviving boss recommendeded apricot seeds. My mom has dentures so can't chew the seed. They make supplements though.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I'd suggest looking at the best cancer treatment centers you can afford but...she has to decide if she wants quality or quantity. The treatment process is brutal and requires isolation to prevent deadly infection while the bodies immunity is compromised. New treatments with DNA exist but you basically need to be a former president to get it. All us normal mortals get are poisons. Homeopathic medications and prayers do not combat cancer. One thing that everyone should be given is the option to die with dignity. This varies from doctor to doctor so you need to find one willing to give a prescription for fentanyl. My friend Kristin was fortunate to have had that option and in the end took it.

Dr. Barbara O'Neil has a book on natural remedies that covers every aligment includinding cancer.
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
@MrBrownstone yes I've started her on herbal stuff. I won't know until the next CT scans if it did anything

I highly suggest to skip radiation and chemo. Especially chemo because it usually kills the patient before the cancer does. It's poison. just take vitamins and cut out sugar and continue to live life as normal. I have heard that milk thistle vitamin can help cancer and selenium. You might research online and see what else there is. There was a 70 year old guy I met a few months ago at my hotel job (he lived on property and also helped us out) he had stage 4 cancer and his doctor advised him not to do chemo. He did some kind of hormone treatment. The guy that had cancer said he felt great, he still did our yard work and he looked good too. I could tell he worked out and was fit.

I hope that regimen helps....make sure that she gas a living will and Medical power pf attorney,we all should have this.

I'm sorry this happened to both of you

There are other things that are good too. Black seed oil ( over 400 medical research studies around the world on this), Boswellia (potent anti- inflammatory), Quercetin, Meriva turmeric ( I know
someone who had breast cancer and her oncologist had her taking it and fresh organic carrot juice) before surgery and she survived),as well as foods, herbs and spices that are ant-angiogenesis. It would be worthwhile for you to read up and study these.

I hate this for your mom, and of course for you... I've been there and went through radiation, chemo, and several surgeries and rehabs over three years. I beat it, and I hope your mom beats it too.

I had a good medical team and I encourage you and your mom to sort through and pick the best oncologists you can find.

Put viniger in a glass of water. The acid helps to kill cancer. Orange juice or grapefruit juice. Flax seed helps some i have heard.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Confined Just never combine grapefruit juice with any medication because it increases its effects.
Confined · 56-60, M
@CrazyMusicLover interesting. Never heard that. But i mostly drink orange juice.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Confined [quote]Many drugs are broken down (metabolized) with the help of a vital enzyme called CYP3A4 in the small intestine. Grapefruit juice can block the action of intestinal CYP3A4, so instead of being metabolized, more of the drug enters the blood and stays in the body longer. The result: too much drug in your body. I've heard that most cancers are spontaneous. Really sorry to hear that. It's such a difficult experience for everyone impacted.
I’m sorry about your mum. Maybe look into turkey tail, there’s evidence that it supports the immune system during cancer treatments.

Be sure to find a very good oncologist in a cancer center!

iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I am so very sorry about this. I have no recommendations but to only say do not listen to anyone about skipping chemotherapy.

I really hope that she beats this 🩷.
