Yep. I had gallstones, very very painful.

They removed the gallbladder before it ruptured. They asked my permission to keep it as a specimen because it was so bad - there's a claim to fame 😂😂😂

Op was OK. Initial recovery I reacted a bit to the anesthetic so stayed over night. Pain killers and surgical socks etc. Moving about and walking difficult for a few days. Was back at work after a couple of weeks.

My mum recently died of cancer of the gallbladder. She was too old to operate on. Don't take the chance. Have it removed.
I have not, but I think at least one of my parents did. It seems to be necessary at times.

Did you have gall stones form?

@SomeMichGuy the doctor said my gallbladder is thick
@Slivereyes I wonder what that means.

Maybe thickening is the sign that it needs to be removed.

It seems to affect how things taste (sometimes).

If you have gallbladder stones, you should try lithotripsy instead of removing gallbladder. You need to live a very restricted and disciplined life after removal of gallbladder.

@Slivereyes You can take consultation from another lithotripsy specialist. I don't know what degree of shock/sound waves new machines can treat with.

@ABCDEF7 I had mine removed and there have been no restrictions or discipline that I have had to follow.

@ironborn That tells you already had very balanced life style.
