I’m for doctor assisted dying

I think if a person has a terminal illness and their quality of life is terrible and they are in so much pain they have a right to end their suffering in a humane painless way. Give these people their dignity when dying. Why cause them more suffering than they already have to endure? Let them say goodbye to their loved ones and end their suffering.

I've seen comments before than doctors have increased morphine to the point that death would be inevitable.

within the current legal rules.

I hate that the states that have it say you have to be diagnosed and expected to die within 6 months and a group of doctors have to agree to it.

You get a disease with a death sentence and the quality of your life will only deteriorate until you become unable to string good minutes together or even go to the bathroom by yourself...

You should be able to decide when to stop it. Prepay your funeral, say goodbye -or not, take the pill and let people know when to come by to collect your body.

"My body...my choice"

It's not just about reproductive rights.

For those that think it's crazy or a sin...don't do it. Simple. Your body...your choice.

Diane Rehm wrote an excellent book on the topic, "On My Own." It tells of the lingering death of her husband, who wanted a physician to help him die rather than suffer the painful, sad dying process of his terminal illness. No doctor could legally help him, so he chose to refuse all food until he died in hospice care. They kept him comfortable. There has to be a better way.

Harold Shipman thought that too.

And much pioneering work has been done at the Countess of Chester hospital trust.
