So sad when these things occur,
I hope that your mil is properly cared for when she does go to the hospital.
It seems like society is going backwards when it comes to looking after our vulnerable citizens.
Priorities are wrong with few people in power willing to make a change for the better.

Aw lovely, I feel your pain on this one. My Mam had a fall at the end of December and we had a 9.5 hour wait for an ambulance. For various reasons we've had to call an ambulance twice since and the shortest wait we've had is 6 hours. Luckily (in a way) by the time we've made it to hospital, things have been that serious that she's been taken straight into majors, but its been hell on earth.
Hope things settle down asap for you and that there are no serious consequences for you guys or MIL x

No offense,but this is what some of us want in the states to nationalize health?
We get nervous here if an ambulance takes over an hour to arrive.
A 5 hour wait to be seen at hospital would seem equally ridiculous and negligent.
When I read what you've gone through and your family, I have to believe with all it's flaws,that private insurance is the better option.
We do have government insurance, too,for lower income folks, but most of our insurance is through our workplace through private companies.
I just can't believe the things you guys have to go through to get care.
