Those of you who have had COVID, do you know which strain you likely had?

Based on when and where I got it and my significant loss of sense of smell, ChatGPT says that I most likely had the D614G variant, and if not that then the original wild-type strain.

What about you? And if you don’t know which strain, tell me approximately when and where you got Covid and I can find out for you!

I got it right after Halloween of 2020
The only reason I realize it was because I was munching on some reeces pieces and they had no taste 😱 got tested and yup I had it 😷

@Ashly My cousins went over one year without being able to taste or smell anything (not even smoke! 😬) and he says to this day it's still reduced compared to what it used to be

The silver lining is that he can now use public transportation in Summer without suffering as much as the rest of us 🙊

@Elessar did he say how reduced it is? Mine was only fully gone for a few months but I’m at like 40% now and I don’t think it’s getting better anymore

@Zeuro He can't quantify much because after a whole year without tasting anything he can't exactly remember how different it was before, but yeah he says it's quite less perceptible now. As soon as he gets even the smallest cold he loses them again, but at least now they return as soon as he recover
