And of course I have the rare medication resistant one 🙄

I got some test results back from the doctor yesterday. I have a rare candida infection that I’ve been struggling with for years and it seems to be getting worse. The strain is called candida lusitaniae. It is resistant to medication. Which makes sense because I have tried different medications for years to try and treat it but nothing ever helps. From what I’ve read diet and herbal supplements, can actually have better results than doing the pharmaceutical route. It just sucks because the diet is so restricted. No sugar, gluten, dairy, starchy vegetables, or fruit. Which I guess is fine in a way because my stomach hurts all the time from this infection anyways. I can hardly eat anything. I’ve lost 3 pounds in the last week. There is a small chance that this infection can be fatal but it’s only a small percentage like 5% of people. Kinda scary. So hopefully I am able to overcome this and get better

I don't know if you've heard of the carnivore diet but it just cures so many things and if a person wants to get well, that's the way to go. It's good for your whole body and even heart surgeons are saying to turn to the carnivore diet and you're never hungry. It clears up the gut, blood pressure, the autoimmune system, pain, depression, you name it. It's very good for the heart. I know a few of the family members are on it, including myself.
@LadyGrace thanks for sharing this I appreciate it

For almost two years I was on a gluten free, dairy free diet...because of intestinal problems...and now I am on a "no white food" diet.

You just have to learn what is available in terms of substitutes for the things you want to eat. For example, I drank almond milk and coconut milk instead of real milk. I discovered that they do make non dairy yogurt. I'.m still learning. Did you know they make Keto puffs? They are sort of like cheese puffs without the cheese and without flour.

The most scary thing to me as a doctor is infection. This candida can be treated with fluconazole "Diflucan" . The worst possibilty about it is fungemia. But it is rare . I hope you better and better health.
@sam1992 thank you 🙏

Have you tried Pao d'arco? Garlic? Neem?
@Mardrae I have a Candida tea I’ve been drinking daily that has pao d’arco in it. I’ve also been trying to eat garlic every day. There’s a few other supplements I’m taking too. Oil of oregano, astragalus, reishi, Oregon grape root. I’ve heard good things about neem and grapefruit seed oil. I’m just gonna start throwing everything at it that I can until some thing helps. I also read that this strain will become resistant to supplements as well so you have to switch them around and can’t take one consistently.

@DisarrayedNightshade try coconut oil too
@Mardrae I’ve been cooking with coconut oil. Been thinking about just eating it or making golden paste with it, turmeric and pepper. Thanks for the advice
