It is baffling how little able bodied people understand accessibility...

The Dutch railways claim that accessibility is very important them. Then I saw this on Twitter:
The elevator at Amsterdam Central, platform 1 is broken. Could you announce this in the travel planning app?

Answer from the Dutch Railways:
This defect is known to us, but it is expected to be resolved within 24 hours. We only put notices on travel advice in case of complications causing an elevator to be out of use for days or weeks. If you want to know if an elevator works, send us a message. We can also check for more temporary issues.

- Offering to tell people they won't be able to leave a station if they explicitly ask for the status is not accessible!
- Informing people they will not be able to leave a station for the foreseeable future is not accessible!
Hmm... Charge them with the task of getting disabled people up and down stairs - that should change their mind pretty quickly because they either have to do some grunt work or fund fares to the next accessible station where disabled people can embark/disembark...
@HootyTheNightOwl if only... Sadly they only advice you to get off a station before and after, if you ask them about other options, and the extra work/costs are for you.
If you want to know what elevator works... my hells.

Reading about stuff like this is not good for my mental health. I have a white knight complex that's gotten my happy ass in trouble before.
