The US has now had over 55,000 children hospitalized with Covid, most in last couple months

Very sobering numbers.

Some countries, Scandinavia and Japan, have stopped the Moderna vaccine for anyone under 30 years old as there might be a prevalence of heart problems in that population especially males, but they will give Pfizer vaccine to that population.
@Carazaa The US CDC looked at the numbers, saw that those heart problems are far more common in youth with Covid than with the vaccine. So, it becomes a tradeoff. Depending on how prevalent Covid is in a population, you might still reduce heart problems in 18-30 year olds even with Moderna.

@ElwoodBlues But thanks I didn't know that the CDC looked in to the heart situation!

- CDC continues to recommend COVID-19 vaccination for everyone 12 years of age and older given the greater risk of other serious complications related to COVID-19, such as hospitalization, multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), or death.[/quote]
