how to deal with the disappointment of putting on weight again

years ago i was quite overweight and got diabetes type 2, so i had to change my lifestyle and do something about it, fast, so i went swimming regularly and watched my diet and i lost 3 nearly 4 stone and got slim...but now, unfortunately, weight has crept back on me again and i have put on 2 stone i think....so now i feel disheartened about it....i'm trying to keep up the swimming and trying to watch what i consume.

i feel really really disheartened and disappointed with myself.

Being disappointed is ok because it can be used as motivation. Where it starts to go downhill is feeling bad about, not doing anything to change it, and then feeling even worse. If you got there once you can get there again. Trying to remember how, I imagine, good it felt to lose that weight might be something to keep an eye on. Good luck.

@darkmere1983 Sure you can. If you hadn't done it once then it would be harder. But you know the drill. And once you get in to it, start to lose a bit, you know that'll just fuel you to keep going because it feels good. You got this. 👍
