Shredded Wheat and Spinach?

I need to eat more fiber and vegetables. So I wondered what spinach mixed with crushed Shredded Wheat would taste like. It might actually be an improvement on both. Add butter, salt, pepper, and saute it in a skillet. Maybe some bacon bits? Onion?

So I asked Google and it thought I made a mistake and meant something else. LOL! So I said no, I really meant that. It then said:

If you literally mean Shredded Wheat breakfast cereal (like the big biscuits or bite-sized pillows) and sautéed spinach, the combination is unconventional and the textures will conflict if they are just tossed in a pan together. Standard Shredded Wheat will turn unpleasantly soggy or mushy when mixed with the moisture of sautéed spinach, while the dry parts will feel overly fibrous.

However, you can absolutely make this combo good by treating the cereal as a savory, crunchy element rather than a grain base.

How to make Shredded Wheat & Spinach work:

• The "Triscuit" Crouton Method: Crush the Shredded Wheat slightly into bite-sized pieces. Toss them in a pan with olive oil or melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until they are toasted and crispy. Sauté your spinach separately with fresh garlic and lemon juice. Top the warm spinach with the crunchy, seasoned wheat clusters right before serving so they don't get soggy.
