marshmallows...is there anything NOT manmade?? any natural ingredient??

lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
Marshmallow candy got its name from marshmallow root because manufacturers originally used the root's mucilage to make this confection. Today, however, candy marshmallows typically do not contain the herb. Instead, they consist of sugar and gelatin.

Marshmallows are made in factories using the same method you use at home: a sugar-gelatin scaffolding is created to hold air in place, then air is whipped in. The marshmallow mixture is then extruded through pressurized pipes into long fluffy ropes, which are cut crosswise into individual marshmallows

@lumberjackslam They did the same thing with Root Beer/Sassafras candy; kept the name despite containing absolutely no sassafras (they use corn syrup instead)

Their claim is that sassafras is cardiogenic (which is just complete horseshit), it actually has numerous health benefits

But that's about all we can expect from an over federalized government, anything natural (especially things you can collect and make yourself) is supposedly bad for you...

but anything synthetic (and taxed) is good for you...🤔
