November 2025 will be food insecurity month for MANY in the United States.

MANY of my neighbors survive on their SNAP benefits entirely.

Due to the Democratic portion of the Senate holding up the resumption of government funds, it appears that dozens and dozens of my neighbors will go hungry next month unless the Democrat Senators finally vote to re-open the government.

SNAP MIGHT have sufficient funds to allow people SOME money for food...but who knows how much it will be.

Typically, as almost always during times of crisis, the Boston Food Bank AND local grocery store donations to our local food pantry have slowed to a mere trickle.

I have written to Senator Warren asking her to vote to move the government budget forward, but I doubt it will do any good.

This sad situation is now nationwide.

Those of you who can afford it, please donate in your own states. Donate what you can...food, or money to your local food bank so that they can BUY food.

Locally, I will be doing what little I can by visiting food pantries and organizing my neighbors to do the same, and bringing food back here so that ALL who are in need can share.

Thanks for the update. Are the meals-on-wheels programs also having to stop? Title 7? (seniors) Title 6? (Native Americans), and the Head start programs?

@Heartlander Meals on Wheels funding will be cut. Whether or not it will stop entirely, I do not know. Title 7 will not be cut. Title 6 is under threat of cuts. Head Start will not be cut, but there are fears that OTHER funding cuts might destabilize some Head Start services.
