How does McDonalds use cooking oil for fuel in their lorries?

To use it in modern diesel engines it has to be treated. In really old ones it can be used as is as long as you just filter out the burnt bits.
It catches fire pretty easily. It happens to me on occasion that when i shake a frying pan that a little oil escapes and falls on the gas burner. It definitely catches fire then.
