Ever eaten acorns, or anything made from acorns?

Yes. I gathered acorns when I was 9 years old and shelled them. Then boiled them in several changes water with a lot of salt. Drained them and split in half and put on a cookie sheet and roasted them in the oven. I’ve also eaten large acorns from cork oak trees in Morocco. They have to be boiled quite a while. Ate them for a snack, they were really dry & mealy texture.
@cherokeepatti If prices keep rising, I'm switching acorn flour. It still makes sourdough, and it's free.

@UnderLockDown I removed the tannins and then roasted them like nuts. I was hungry for salted peanuts.
