Im on keto.... started about 4 weeks ago.
Sleeping better, not as hungry, mental clarity, more energetic.
Inflammation is gone.
I eat lots of veggies 70% of my meal intake then protein like chicken breast, porkloin, beef cooked with butter, the real kind.
My teenage sons are football players and power lifters, they're doing dirty keto and intermittent fasting and dropping weight but somehow still bulking up.

@StraightLacedLADY Did you use any books?

@Gondonchik I signed up with Dr. Berg, saw him on FB several times and finally took the plunge. I get emails and texts and reminders (that I can opt out of any time)... it's almost like having someone there gently reminding me what I'm working for. He is a doctor really focused on the nutrition, he admits early in his career to thinking high protein, non fat diets were bad for us but then dug in and found the science that wasn't motivated by greedy corp food companies.
I like him because he doesn't have tunnel vision, he has video's covering multiple health conditions, he explains the why behind what we need to do or the cause of certain things, provides supplements we could take to alleviate issues, it's a wealth of knowledge and his manner of speaking is soothing to boot!
In a little under a month, I can say I've lost 10 lbs and surprisingly, I do not feel like I'm starving. According to his plan, I need to start working on my fitness at week 6 and that will send the fat burning into hyper mode. In the meantime, I just keep hearing him say "it's not just about weight loss, it's about health restoration" which for me, is equally important. Won't matter if I have a great body if I'm sick at home all the time.

@StraightLacedLADY I have some bad news, spoiler alert: stop reading now if you don't want to get the actual story.
Dr. Berg is a quack. He's not an actual medical doctor. He was trained as a chiropractor, at a "for profit" school, and if you watch the videos carefully, he was forced to add a disclaimer that he's not a medical doctor. He's also an antivaxer, a scientologist and a conspiracy theorist. His expertise, is mostly self-claimed, and he has not done any real medical work or research. What he's really good at, is self-promotion.

@Northwest Oh well, I should have looked into it a bit more but I'll take the good and leave the bad which, so far, is 1 and 0.
All the information he's providing is legit and aligns with my health knowledge, which I've tested myself because doctors who've attended medical school without being required to take a single class in nutrition, failed me.
He also doesn't discuss politics or religion so the real spoiler or disappointment here is that you've chosen to comment on the conversation, not to be encouraging, add additional knowledge, or provide a different prospective of choice but to speak negatively about someone despite the good they're doing for other people....

He's not. I'm alerting you that he's a quack.
It's good that you want to maintain a healthy life, but the guy is not a nutritionist. You should talk to an actual nutritionist, and I am not one. Good luck to you.
