Do you care about your health?

I didn't for a good part of my life. I was 58, obese (246lbs) with type 2 diabetes and ate whatever I wanted most of the time. I was in denial. I was lazy. I didn't want to make the effort to do anything.
This past September my outlook changed for a variety of reasons. I began to change the way I ate by making efforts to eat less and eat healthy. I began to walk everyday, and have incorporated other types of exercises in my life.

I am now at 177 pounds. My diabetes is regulated much better. I don't want to go back to how I used to live.

If you are considering making a lifestyle change to get healthy, do it! And yes you can do it if you put your mind to it.

I have advanced arterial disease. Had bypass surgery on the right side of my heart 12 years ago. They did an angioplasty on the left side a few weeks ago. The diseased arteries on that side are to far gone and bypass on that side is not an option. She changed up my meds and told me she would keep me alive as long as possible. Could be next week, could be 10-15 years. I'm just trying to hang in there for my wife, kids and grandchildren as long as I can. Otherwise I could go tomorrow, I have made peace with it.
