Why do doctors say I am underweight, but BMI says I am a healty weight?

@lauriethecolourful Yes, it is. Even when I eat unhealthy things, I can't gain weight. But I can't eat a lot either without feeling very full.

@Manfredthemanic Eating a lot of unhealthy things isn't a good way to gain weight as you're possibly eating too much of the wrong sort of fat also sugar and salt. Are you eating enough protein? Meat, fish, eggs, etc?

Yes, I eat those things. But I eat a small amount and feel full and can't eat any more.

@Manfredthemanic That's quite unusual for a teenager not to be able to eat much at a time. I don't think people on here can really give you any advice. Has your doctor referred you to a dietician?

@Fluffybull My doctor said that he thinks it's there is something wrong with me because I'm not growing like I should at my age. That's why I need to get all the scary tests done.

@lauriethecolourful My doctor thinks it is physical. I have to get a bone marrow biopsy in January.

@Manfredthemanic Bless you! You'll be okay. Just bring a stuffed animal or something comforting to cuddle while they are doing your procedure and maybe you can have your mother or father hold your hand.

@Manfredthemanic Well, all you can do is try and not think about it at the moment, enjoy Xmas and Pieter and Cloud, then let the doctors find out what's wrong in January. ❤️

@Fluffybull Yes, I know, Fluffy, and we are doing a lot of fun things before then. 😊 But sometimes I get very anxious about it and want to cry. I already asked my mum if I have to go. 🙈

@lauriethecolourful I don't know if I can bring a stuffed animal, but I'm not letting my parent in with me. My brother will hold my hand.

@lauriethecolourful No, my brother lives in Berlin, but he is here with his puppy right now and will stay for a while and I'm excited.

@Manfredthemanic What does your brother eat? Maybe while he is here, he could cook for you and you could be just like him. 🙂

@lauriethecolourful Pieter goes to the gym and has a lot of muscles, so he eats a lot. I don't think I would be able to eat all of that.

They didn't say anything because I didn't ask, but my brother made me breakfast and he had the same thing. Then he bought me lunch.
Yes, we are having fun. Today we took Cloud for a walk in the woods and ate lunch far away from people like I enjoy it. Then, my brother took me to buy Christmas presents.

But I got my brother back and Cloud. He is very cute and fun to play with.
