Why do doctors say I am underweight, but BMI says I am a healty weight?

I am 5ft 4 and 96 pounds.
I don't think I am thin.
96 pounds sounds a little underweight, but you're also a little boy and I'm not a doctor, so I can't say. Is it difficult for you to gain weight?

@lauriethecolourful Hello!
They didn't say anything because I didn't ask, but my brother made me breakfast and he had the same thing. Then he bought me lunch.
Yes, we are having fun. Today we took Cloud for a walk in the woods and ate lunch far away from people like I enjoy it. Then, my brother took me to buy Christmas presents.
@Manfredthemanic Aww. I'm very happy that you're enjoying your time with your brother.
Are you getting anything nice for Christmas?

@lauriethecolourful I don't know because I haven't got it yet. 🙈🙈
But I got my brother back and Cloud. He is very cute and fun to play with.

BMI is only a rough guide. If I was at the lower end of weight according to my height in the BMI calculator, I'd look like a skeleton.

@Fluffybull Yes, Fluffy. But I don't think I look like a skeleton.

@Manfredthemanic I'm not saying you look like a skeleton. But the range of weight it says is "healthy" is very wide. It can't identify different size of frame, muscular weight, etc. It can only be used as part of a guide to weight, not relied on totally.
