We didn’t sit around all day in front of a computer or waste time constantly messing with a phone.

@jackson55 Also people ate healthier food because they could afford to do so rather than having to go to the drive thru all the time. Living in the ghetto for so long has shown me how many people have terrible diets because of their socioeconomic status.
But I guess at least smoking isn't nearly as common. Everyone back in the day smoked and thought it was fine.

@BlueMetalChick One doesn’t have to live in the ghetto to have bad eating habits. I’ve seen people at McDonalds and other fast food places that certainly aren’t poor. You’re absolutely right about smoking.

@jackson55 In my case, most of my neighbors are pretty poor and they eat most of their meals at fast food restaurants and such. But then I also have a lot of neighbors who only cook at home too. I'm lucky enough to have the money to shop for organic meats and produce, and I have a family member who loves to cook.

@BlueMetalChick I enjoy a nice grease burger from time to time. Maybe 2/3 times a year. We eat at home most of the time. Healthier and cheaper..

@jackson55 My favorite unhealthy food is probably fish and chips. I love to eat it when I watch the baseball game.

@BlueMetalChick how can poor people afford to eat out?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Jenny1234 Fast food is not "eating out." I'm talking about like ordering off the dollar menu at McDonald's or Wendy's.

Wendy’s and McDonald’s are both fast food. Also they did not eat out as often as people do now at any restaurant @BlueMetalChick
