Swap wife - first time with couple

We are planning a wife swap. Full swap. All are consenting. However the ladies have both made a request to get to know the gents first.
They know each other well but not on that level, just as friends. They need alone time with couples swapped, not to do anything but just to kinda get to know each other more personal. So coffee dates are out ofnthe question but maybe something similar whereby after they can have a few moments just alone and more personal.
The experts amongst us can share some idea or suggestion

If swapping is as claimed just for sex, and "All are consenting," I might safely assume each of you is already sexually attracted to your prospective playmate. So why the "get to know yous" before bedtime?

My concern: the ladies feel themselves weak to resist if things trend past "just sex," that they'll become smitten and end up preferring their FWB life. Then the complications multiply. The meetings wouldn't be foreplay, they'd be vetting sessions to ease their concerns about infatuation or even falling in love. Good for both the wife and her maybe "other man," who should share the same anxiety.
