tell me about your first experience at a swingers club or similar

I went once. It was in an industrial area of Dallas. We paid the fee and started by looking around. The reception area was nicely appointed with dishes full of condoms everywhere. We went to the locker room and put our clothes etc awsy. Then we looked around inside. This was on a friday night and the place was busy. The floors were covered in mattresses. Bare mattresses. The place stank of cigs and ammonia. The other people looked "rough." It was nasty. We got dressed and checked into a nice hotel downtown. I wouldn't try it again.

When i was in my 20s I decided to go camping at a nudist resort that I heard was pretty laid back. Previously I had only been to vanilla nudist resorts.. the kind of place you'd take your kids.

About an hour or so at the pool and I realized it was more than laid back. It was actually very swing friendly. I got to talking to one couple and after a hour or so they asked if I wanted to go back to their RV. Being very inexperienced I had no idea they meant go back to their RV to have sex.

They introduced to to some friends of theirs and I had sex with the wife while the husband was with someone else.

That weekend really opened me up to a whole other way of life.

In the late 1970s I went to one alone, fresh from a divorce. It was a bit awkward and smelly, a place to strip down and lockers, rubbers on a table, people walking around mostly couples and my first thought was that with me being a male alone my pickings would be slim. I did get picked however by a woman that was attractive in a plain way, which is what I prefer, and much older than me which really I found interesting. She led me to a room and we started making out, however her husband joined the action, which was ok but wasn’t what I was in the mood for. Sex with a rubber, nice but I remember when I got back to my hotel room I’d likely have enjoyed masturbating there about the same and would have been much safer.

When I was a child of around 7/8, in '75-'76, my neighbor/best friend's parents were having a party, my parents were there too, we snuck into her house to get some chips and dips, I remember seeing a glass bowl with keys in it. We grabbed chips and dip then went back to my house, where the older kids were babysitting the younger kids of the parents who were at the party, Ate our chips then went outside in the middle of the night to play 'midnight hide and seek'. It wasn't until later, years later, I was talking to my older sister, telling her about the chips and the bowl with the keys, she told me it was a 'swingers' party! I have never been into 'swinging' probably for that reason!

My closest was researching them in Sydney in pre-internet days. It seemed too much trouble, with the periodic sex-health checks and reciprocal hosting of the parties.
