for me no. I was partially insulated because I didn't really start making a descent income until I was in my 30's. But it interesting question on a lot of levels. To skim some of those layers

1) financial worth is a portion of every coupling. If you get bored enough to dig through socilogical data you would eventually discover that most people marry within their income status in a broad sense. That might suggest for many potential couples the impact of their partners net worth on their combined net worth is a potential factor in that relationship.

2) A lot of dudes play "vicitim" to a gold digger while putting their wealth on display as a courting tool. I am looking at you passport bros. All kidding aside passport bros are an easy illustration of this. They go to a country where the GDP / GNP is much lower than their country of orgin, go shopping for a future wife and than some of them react with outrage when she shows more interest in their wealth than their looks or personality. It is like "my dude, you litterally led with I am rich and got mad when she reacted to that part despite having a size 40 inch waist and double chin.

3) A lot of potential gold digging can be mitigated by conversations early in the relationship. She is going to ask you a lot of questions you should probably ask some questions too. If money comes up a lot and you have a lot more than she does you have to evaluate the impact that may have on a relationship. It doesn't mean the relationship is a no go but more knowing she is putting a lot of eggs in that basket how does that impact the dynamics of this relationship vs others you had in the past or may have in the future?

No, but two or three years ago, a woman at the grocery store asked me out to accompany her to an ethnic festival. She suggested I bring an extra $50 to give to her so she could buy stuff.

🙄 I don't think so.

I would have spent way more than that on her if she would have just kept her big presumptuous yap shut.🤣

Nope. A few have tried but they didn't get much. Nobody is taking what belong to my son.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@ScreamingFox I had a boyfriend who was utterly shocked that I had made my kids my beneficiaries but not him. Lol He said, "You're mine." I said, "Well you better change that as soon as you can because it'll go to my kids." Lol

Nah, I'm too broke for that.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Yup, they're all after my Arby's loyalty card, but they'll never get it while I'm still alive. 😤
No. I have always been in the protected category of having no gold to dig.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
I`m married, enough said. 😬
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@Degbeme this comment disappoints me 😓

My ex used to call me a gold digger even though i supported him through a large portion of our marriage.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@FoxyGoddess It`s meant as a joke. She isn`t a golddigger.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@Degbeme I understand, but even as a joke, it perpetuates a very misogynistic point of view, making it even harder on women.
YoMomma ·

Punxi · F
@AngelUnforgiven Transactional romantic? 🤔
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
@Punxi lol i'm going to start using that. "You aren't a transactional romantic are you?'
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F

Most rich intentionally go after gold diggers they actually give everything they want for nothing in return so if you’re going to blame women for rich wealthy men choosing bimbos just to give their money away
Got out just in time
