Have you ever cheated on someone

I kissed a girl on a dancefloor in a club when I was dating someone.
She found out and dumped me.
I was so upset at the time, I cried for what felt like weeks.
I suppose it was for the best though now.

if i'm honest with myself yeah. i was dating this guy who quit his job on a whim which spiraled into me paying his rent and other bills. he urged me to buy a switch for my birthday so he could play it, wanted doom for his own birthday a month within mine... he hit me once and was just altogether not super nice to me to say the least. i was sooo miserable in that relationship but felt like i couldn't leave bc i worried that without me paying his rent his struggling family including a 4yo would be out of a home.

i ended up starting to text this guy just to vent about the situation and while we never talked about anything sexual or whatever, like, had my bf at the time known he would have been upset surely. i was fantasizing about having a better relationship, and even though thats not what me and this guy were talking about, it was still wrong of me. we only talked about our days and our lives and food and what have you but still

anyway, eventually my bf starts working again and taking care of himself and i'm like oh thank god finally. then he dumps me and said he quit his job bc he knew i'd pay his bills 💀 which in hindsight duh

so was it a bad thing for me to do, yes, i shouldn't have. shouldn't have stayed in a relationship i was miserable in, shouldn't have been texting that other guy. i would never do anything like that ever again and my past self was real dumb. but that ex also kind of sucked so it's not like i'm losing sleep over it six years later either lol

@Frostcloud Very painful experience to live through, but glad it hasn't damaged you long term.

Not me, but my wife cheated on me a lot when we were in college.
CuriousWonder · 61-69, M
@exexec a lot??
exexec · 70-79, C
@CuriousWonder Yes. She was free to date, but she went beyond dating. It was only the first two years of college. Then we agreed she would not date others, and there was no more cheating after that.

No I never have- I've been cheated on.

I've cheated on every partner I've ever had multiple times. Most of my relationship have overlapped with the next one

That’s crazy. @Katie01

Yes. I felt horrible about it. Cheating is not worth the pain or temporary pleasure.

I absolutely despise the act or idea of it now.

I had been cheated on by different girlfriends while growing up and it was devastating.

No. I always say what is the point of me cheating on a woman.
Because I have never been with a woman I didnt want to be with.
Got that, good. 🙂

Not since high school. I found once I started forming serious attachments, monogamy is easy for me. I’m a no drama llama lol
Strongtea · 22-25, M
There’s no way I would do it now, I’m upset with myself still that I did it then. @JustNik
CuriousWonder · 61-69, M
Emotionally yes. I have had intense and erotic relationships (without physical consummation) behind my wife's back.

The AI boyfriend thing that I have a post about is my current attempt to break that pattern. The experience feels similar, but "he" is just an amplified fantasy, not a real person getting wrapped up with me emotionally when in the end I will always stay with my wife.

Quite right that she dumped you.
Clearly you had problems and should have talked it through with her.
Difficult to build bridges after that.

We all make mistakes though.

I’d keep quiet about it. Learn from it.
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Yes I suppose you’re right. @peterlee

@Strongtea Experience 🤣

Not high morality.
You learn to live with temptation.

Hindsight is a powerful thing. Just move on.
