Why do some adults go after teenagers/young adults to date?

I don’t mean close in age like 17/18 and 21 for instance. I mean well into adulthood say 40 -50 dating say 22-23 year old. 30 year old “dating” a 15-16 year old in some places. In some countries and communities they have marriages that young with that kind of age gap. Are they fucked in the head or what? I wouldn’t even blink at a relationship between a 40 year old and a 60 year old because both are well into adulthood. But liking really barely legal partners says to me that’s a predator when the older individual is way too old. Even a few years when the teenager is too young like a 19 year old pursuing a 14 year old for example. Personally it’s gross. I was 12 when I was molested by an 18 or 19 year old. You get my point…..

That means people in the u.s.a that commit mild pedophelia get killed, over some law not universally accepted. Makes you wonder knowing that the mind stops maturing in your late twenties. Our basis for 15 years old dating guys in their twenties is that theyre not mature in their thinking. The greeks had a mild form pedophelia.

I totally get it. When I was barely out of junior high school a girl much older than me tried to get me but back then it was the norm. I know it sounds extreme but what can you do when your mind is not fully mature
