Apparently some men now submit potential dates/partners to 'gold digger tests' before commiting to them

This is, for want of a better phrase, gold!

Women try to 'test' men all the time in dating and relationships, so why can't men flip the script and apply the same mindset to women? 8-)

I met my current wife on Match. I definitely stated outright that I was looking for someone self supporting. I divorced 33 years of eye candy. No way I was doing that again. Ever.

It’d probably been 30 years since I’d received a Christmas (e.g.) present that I didn’t pay for. It’s weird now wondering what Christmas didn’t cost me (as I remarried a couple years ago).

@Adogslife The best 'presents' are the ones you work for and pay for yourself. That doesn't extend to 'working for and paying to support' a woman who is too lazy to otherwise support herself as her own person first.

Turn around it's fair play! I've known other ladies who will only date men with a specific income or higher. Just as I've known men who will only date women 10 years younger than them.

No idea what you getting at but I tell potential dates that I’m homeless, don’t get any dates 😞

@Nunlover For me when I tell a woman I do shiftwork and I'm a single dad, I no longer get any dates. 8-) I'll take being a loving parent any day over a romantic relationship.

It's not all women right? I assume a minority

@Amy2005 The strawberry test being one.

@zonavar68 how does that work?
