I once heard, that with dating, you have to "heat the oven up" before you "put the turkey in"?

Is that true? Cause at the moment I just tell a woman when I think she's beautiful. I'm speaking from my heart and it's quicker, because after that you pretty soon know whether she's interested or not. If you don't understand this guy was basically saying you should slow it down and don't tell her she's beautiful straight away. I'm gonna make this a poll. What do you think
